Co-Curricular Learning

The Moreau First-Year Seminar integrates intellectual discussion with real-life application by inviting you to explore the course themes through your lived experience at Notre Dame.  As a critical component of the course, all first-year students are required to engage and reflect upon several co-curricular learning exercises that enable active participation in their holistic formation and intentionally couple the study and the practice of living well.

co-curricular events

All first-year students are required to attend and reflect upon 3 co-curricular events. Students are expected to attend the Signature Event (Oct. 7) and two other events. See below for more details.

Co-curricular events, designed and executed in partnership between the Moreau Program and key campus partners, are scheduled, communal experiences for which pre-registration is required. Their goal is to help you explore the course topics through reflective, often artistic shared experiences that expand your imagination on the topic.

Explore the co-curricular events inventory to identify events of interest.

Registration is required and limited for all events, and you should attend at least one event before October 3. Record your reflections about events and labs in the final section of your commonplace book.

co-curricular labs

Students are also required to complete and reflect upon two co-curricular labs. Co-curricular labs are experiences that you may complete on your own within a week of the corresponding session. Their goal is to help you integrate the course topics and texts into your everyday life.

Explore the co-curricular lab options below. You should complete at least one co-curricular lab before September 19. Record your reflections about events and labs in the final section of your commonplace book.
